This Weekend: How Bazaar! Getting a Jump Start on Your Local Holiday Shopping

This is one of a few choice weekends for many local churches and organizations to hold their annual holiday bazaars. Here's a list to help plan your day and be sure not to miss any. Happy local shopping!

Paine House: On Saturday, Nov. 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Paine House Museum will sponsor a Craft Sale at the Coventry Community Center. Apart from shopping the wares of local crafters, guests may purchase chowder and clam cakes, french fries and hot dogs for lunch.

Best Western WG Inn: On Saturday, Nov. 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Best Western West Greenwich Inn, located at 99 Nooseneck Hill Rd., West Greenwich, will host its first ever Holiday Craft Bazaar featuring artists from across RI and CT, raffles, and photos with Santa (bring your camera!). Also, Best Western will be collecting donations of dog or cat food, blankets, paper towels, laundry detergent, etc. during the Bazaar to benefit the Coventry Animal Shelter.

Club Jogues: From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, Club Jogues, located at 184 Boston Street in Coventry, is hosting a handmade craft fair featuring local artisans.

Foster Country Club: From 5-9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Foster Country Club, located at 67 Johnson Foster Rd., Foster, will host its 21st Annual Christmas in the Valley Holiday Sale. There will be many artisans and vendors featuring an assortment of items, live music, restaurant specials, raffles and a Sunday visit from Santa! Bring a nonperishable food item and receive a free raffle ticket. Proceeds will benefit the Libraries of Foster and the local food bank. Visit www.christmasinthevalleyri.com for more information.

Ocean State Artisans: From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, the Ocean State Artisans will host a Holiday Craft Festival at CCRI's Knight Campus, located at 400 East Avenue in Warwick. $2 admission or $1 and a canned good to benefit the RI Food Bank.

Fruit Hill: From 1-4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Fruit Hill Day Services for the Elderly at 399 Fruit Hill Ave., North Providence, will host its Holiday Bazaar. The event will feature liquor and holiday baskets, sports memorabilia, jewelry, crafts and other gifts.

WW Country Club: On Saturday, Nov. 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the West Warwick Country Club, located at 335 Wakefield Street, West Warwick, will host "Tee's the Season", featuring what the Club is calling the "best crafts in the state"!

Pet Refuge: From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, the Pet Refuge will host its Annual Holiday Bazaar at the Cold Spring Community Center, located at 30 Beach Street in Wickford. The event will feature holiday items, handmade gifts, pet items, gift baskets, White Elephant, baked goods and more. Lunch and refreshments will be served. Donations gratefully accepted and can be dropped off at the Community Center on Nov. 29 between 1-8 p.m. or at the Pet Refuge (500 Stony Ln., North Kingstown).
