Five Things, July 23: Farmers Market, Artisans Wanted and More

Greene Farmers Market: Skip the grocery store tonight and pick up some fresh veggies, breads and pies at Greene Library's Farmers Market! From 4-7 p.m. each Tuesday through September, the Library (179 Hopkins Hollow Rd.) will host the community market that also offers plants, original craftwork and more. CPL "Under" Storytime: At 2 p.m. tomorrow, July 24, the Coventry Public Library will host a performance by professional storyteller Carolyn Martino for children ages 5-12. Ms. Martino will share funny stories about everything UNDER - under the ground, under the house, under a rock, under the pillows and more! No registration is required.

Community Garden Help: The Coventry Community Garden, organized and overseen by longtime resident Gail Tatangelo, is in great need of volunteers to assist with planting, weeding, watering and harvesting through the summer months. If you're interested in volunteering time to the garden that provides healthy food to Coventry residents in need, email Gail at gail660@verizon.net. Feel free to stop by the garden across from Town Hall to lend a hand!

Plan Ahead - Pasta Dinner Fundraiser: Tickets are now available for the July 27 fundraising event, "Raising the Roof On Humanity", a pasta dinner organized by the wives and significant others of the Central Coventry firefighters, with the hopes of raising enough money to repair the leaking roof of the late CCFD Battalion Chief Bill Hall's house. The dinner will be held from 4-8 p.m. at the West Warwick Elks Club (60 Clyde St., West Warwick) and will cost $10 for adults and $5 for children. Artisans and Crafters: The Friends of the Coventry Public Library are now accepting applications for artisans and crafters for the 3rd Annual Fall Artisan Fair to be held on Saturday, Oct. 5. Contact Virginia at lynchkids96@verizon.net or call (401) 826-1122 for an application or more information.
