Obituary: Captain William J. Hall

Hall, a 22-year veteran of the Central Coventry Fire District, passed away on April 20.

 

HALL, WILLIAM J., of Tiogue Ave., a Captain in the Central Coventry Fire District, passed away at home while surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, April 20, 2013. He was the husband of Tracy Lyn (Croll) Hall for 21 years.

Born in Warwick, he was the son of William O. and Delores (Pinto) Hall of Largo, Florida. Bill was a Firefighter in the Central Coventry Fire District since 1991. He graduated from Tollgate High School in 1985. Bill earned an Associate's Degree in Fire Science from CCRI and then a Bachelor's Degree from Roger Williams University in Public Administration.

Captain Hall established and was coordinator of CERT (Community Emergency Response Team). He also served on the Coventry Town Council, the Coventry Housing Association and was Chairman of the Coventry Sewer Board.

He was the father of Sarah E. Hall and the brother of Patricia (Rob) Gorley of Florida. He was the uncle of Jonathon, Kyle and Lexi.

Visiting hours are scheduled for Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at Iannotti Funeral Home (415 Washington St.).

Capt. Hall's funeral procession will begin at 8:45 a.m. from the Iannotti's, and will conclude at SS John & Paul Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. In lieu of flowers, donations to RI Pink Heals (www.ripinktrucks.com) will be appreciated.
