The Coventry Athletic Department will accept nominations through the end of May.

Nominations are currently being accepted for the inaugural class of the Coventry Public Schools Athletic Hall of Fame.

As by Coventry Patch, the Coventry School Committee unanimously approved the establishment of an Athletic Hall of Fame on Nov. 22 after Athletic Director Chuck Jones proposed the idea.

As stated on the nomination form, the purpose of the Hall of Fame, "is to honor and perpetuate the memory of athletes, teams, coaches, and/or administrators who have graduated from Coventry High School. Induction standards emphasize athletic achievement at the high school level, personal character, leadership, and community involvement."

The criteria for each category that an individual or team may be nominated is spelled out on the form.
