Certified Teaching Appointments Approved by School Committee

During the June 25 meeting of the Coventry School Committee, a number of Coventry teachers and school-related employees were recalled following their success at a June 19 job fair, as well as from layoffs. Superintendent Michael Almeida explained that school officials now know what their needs and budget limitations are, allowing the district to be in a position to secure staff for the 2013-2014 school year. 

"We have some very talented people that we're bringing into Coventry," said Almeida. "We're very excited and feel very confident in these recommendations. There is a wealth of experience, talent and commitment within this group."

The following appointments were made at Tuesday's meeting to fill vacant existing positions within the school district:

Job Share/Swap

Committee members approved a job share for Alison Kasbarian and Colleen Miller for a 1.0 Social Studies teaching position at CHS for the 2013-2014 school year (one salary and benefit package).

Committee members approved a job swap for Jessica Gebhard and Joyce Windrow for a Science teaching position at CHS for the 2013-2014 school year (Gebhard 1.0; Windrow .5).
