Maria G. Tiburcio (Pimentel), 82, of Remington Street, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the West View Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Joao Tiburcio. Born in the Azores, she was a daughter of the late Francisco and Herminia (Rita) Pimentel.
Maria was a machine operator for 29 years at Leviton Mfg. in Warwick, before retiring in 1998. She enjoyed painting and crocheting, especially needle point.
She is survived by her children, John, Joseph, Tiago, Nelson and Paul Tiburcio, all of West Warwick and Mariana Blanchard and her husband Brian of West Warwick; her siblings, Joao Pimentel and Helena Rosonina, both of Toronto, Canada and Inez Peixoto of West Warwick, and six grandchildren. She was a sister of the late Joseph Pimentel.
Maria's funeral will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. from the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte. 117), Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, West Warwick. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, West Warwick. Visiting hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Diabetes Association, 146 Clifford St., Providence, RI 02903 would be appreciated.
