Five Things, June 28: Cow Chip Bingo, Christian Concert and More
Today is Friday, June 28, 2013 and here are five things you should know about.
Christian Concert: The Church of the Apostles (170 Fairview Ave.), will host a concert by Rev. Marc Dobson tonight at 6 p.m. Weather permitting, the concert will be outdoors, so bring a blanket or lawn chair! Call 821-7609 or visitwww.apostlesri.org for more information.
CPL Summer Reading: Registration is now open for Coventry Public Library's Summer Reading Program, "Dig Into Reading". Children entering grades 1-5 may register online at www.coventrylibrary.org or in person. CPL librarians will track summer reading progress, offer crafts and hold special performances and events throughout the summer. Call 822-9102 for more information.
Polish Festival: Our Lady of Czenstochowa (222 MacArthur Blvd.), will hold its Annual Polish Festival today, June 28 and Saturday, June 29 from 5-10 p.m. and Sunday from 12-4 p.m. Stop by to enjoy games, crafts, raffles, Cow Chip Bingo and more! Of course there will also be a variety of Polish and American food (just eat before or remember to wash your hands after playing Cow Chip Bingo). Admission is free and parking is available. Elks Bike Run: Elks Riders #2285, Coventry-West Greenwich Lodge (42 Nooseneck Hill Rd., West Greenwich), will hold a motorcycle Ride/Poker Run on June 29 to benefit the Lupus Foundation of New England. Registration begins at 9 a.m., kickstands up at 10:30 a.m. Cost is $20 per person. For tickets contact Wacko at 640-4284 or Ron at 826-2569.
