ReplyThis is why all us angry taxpayers need to show up for the next BIG vote and for the board elections and everything that is going on right now. If we don't show up, expect things will be done to their advantage which is "SPEND THE TAXPAYERS MONEY". They are doing a good job doing that right now.
We should be in emergency mode "NO OVERTIME". Lights on only.

ReplyDoes anyone know with the closing of some of CCFD fire stations, less trucks on the road, has any fire fighters been laid off? If not, what have they been doing?

ReplyThis has been happening for decades for all of our government whether city, state or our great country. We elect them and they have not been listening to us. Our country will be in financial ruin before they know it. It is already happening to our towns and cities across the nation. We, the people, have no choice but to live within our budget because of their spending and we are taxed to death. They can not live within their budget or even cut the budget. We are a country that is under water just like our poor people that are under water in their homes. I pity the future of our children.
All our country needs to be in emergency mode. Food, shelter, security first...everything gets cut. All grants are just that "grants" and they should be cut as well. No more spending period until we get in the black for our future childrens' sake.

ReplyI grew up with Scott Guthrie and he won't get my vote next time for sure! He sure doesn't stick up for us the taxpayers. He wants to spend all the money we don't have. Washington Fire District was running fine with volunteer fire fighters and had a surplus up until the merge. That was our big mistake....believe that merging would save us money....HA. Biggest mistake now....would be to believe them. READ our lips...no new taxes!!! I guess the two times that we voted is not enough for you.

ReplyI don't know Gary Cote, but "stop judging people by what they wear". As in the movie Pretty Woman "big mistake". If you can do things better get up there and help out too. I'm not a fan of our fire districts mistakes either.

Dear realistic voter, I am losing my job with a private company in a few months as well. That is why the voters did not want the tax increase. Everyone is losing their jobs and homes. Things are not good. We are all sick of all these taxes and simply can not afford them. Even the state taxes that some politicians are imposing are crazy. Next election, they will be out too.

ReplyAll the money aid that is coming in from the state is only putting the state and the federal government more in deficit..."in the red". The state and federal government is who? We the taxpayers. Can't they come up with better ideas than spend money the taxpayer do not have? Case in point right now with this town and what other cities are going through as well.

ReplyHi "observing", I'm sick of hearing about Assalone. He surprised us all last night by passing out a pamphlet that said "yes" for the budget to be approved. Had you gotten this, you would've know. The taxpayers are sending a message "No more taxes". All my neighbors are losing our jobs and homes. Guess you don't care about that though.

Hi Realistic voter. If you escrow the last tax payment to an account with CCFD name on it they will not be able to have a tax sale until the issue is resolved.
