Christmas Trees Can Have a New Life!

Here's what to do with the tree when the holidays end.

Christmas Trees bring light and green and joy into our homes during the holiday season. Many people have artificial trees, some have potted trees with roots so they can be replanted outside, and many people buy cut trees that can't be replanted. Kathy Eden of the Coventry Public Works Department said Coventry has curbside pick-up for the used, cut Christmas Trees during the month of January. All trees should have all tinsel, lights and all ornaments and stands removed to be picked up. Pick-up times will be on the regularly scheduled trash day. The town will transport the used Christmas Trees to the RI Resource Recovery facility to be chipped and turned into mulch, essentially going back into the environment in the form of new soil, erosion…
