Crock pots are great this time of year, and this dish is one of our favorites!
We love making meals in the crock pot through the fall and winter. All you have to do is put your ingredients into the crock pot in the morning, and by dinnertime you have a delicious, hot meal ready and waiting for you. This chili recipe is a simple but delicious. Here's what you'll need: Meet us back here tomorrow morning for the recipe!
The big reveal!
Once the pot roast has fully cooked, all you have to do is slice it and enjoy it with the sides you've prepared. Some people like to have gravy with the meat. To make gravy, just add a few tablespoons of flour to the liquid in the crock pot after the pot roast has been removed. Add flour until it thickens to a gravy-like consistency and then ladel that over the meat. Enjoy!
The easiest dinner you'll make this week.
Ready to start cooking? It's so easy, it might surprise you. Throw this in the crock pot before you leave for work, on your lunch break, or mid-morning if you're home. 1. Mix packet of onion dip/soup with the can of soup (cream of mushroom or cream of potato) in the crock pot. Add water (3/4 of a cup, or one full can) and stir together. 2. Carefully place the pot roast into the crock pot and ladel the soup mixture over it so it's covered. It should not be submerged under the liquid, however. 3. Set the crock pot on low if you have enough time. We set ours on high and cooked it for 4 hours, which was plenty. 4. Towards the end of the cooking time for the pot roast you can start preparing sides, like a salad, steamed veggies, baked potatos…
If you have a crock pot and these three simple ingredients, dinner is only a few hours away.
