A second storm of the week is headed toward New England and will dump a bit more snow onto the area on Saturday. The National Weather Service is predicting Coventry to get about 2 inches of snow in the storm that is expected to start around noon Saturday, ending late Saturday night. Patchy fog is expected to worsen visibility as temperatures warm slightly in the afternoon, topping out around 34. The rest of the weekend and early week is looking better — though cooler — in Coventry. Expect partly sunny skies with temperatures in the low-30s Sunday and Monday, with overnight lows dipping into the teens. New Year's Day should warm a bit, with temps topping out in the high-30s under mostly coudy skies.

Do you remember last year's post-Christmas blizzard? With the current zero snowstorms this season (not counting a few Christmas Day flurries), it's hard to believe what Coventry looked like exactly one year ago today. This time last year, the town was digging out from one of the first of what would be an unbelievable 13 snowstorms to hit town last winter. The 2010 post Christmas blizzard hit on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010. It snowed pretty much uninterrupted until midday on Monday, Dec. 27, with the brunt of the storm hitting Coventry in the overnight hours Sunday into Monday. Featured in the gallery to the right are photos from the storm. Did you take pictures of the snowstorm back in 2010? Add them to our collection!
