Coventry Residents Intending to Run for Delegate to Democratic or Republican National Conventions Must File Wednesday or Thursday
Voters will elect delegates during April 24 presidential primary.
Rhode Islanders who want to be a delegate at this summer's Democratic or Republican presidential conventions can begin officially filing today, Secretary of State A. Ralph Mollis announced on Tuesday. Candidates for delegate must file official “Declaration of Candidacy” and "Pledge of Support" forms with the Secretary of State’s office on Feb. 22 or 23. They then have until Feb. 28 to collect the signatures of at least 150 eligible voters in order to qualify to appear on the ballot for the April 24 presidential primary. Those milestones are among many included in a 32-page guide to Rhode Island’s presidential primary that Secretary of State A.
