RIDOT: Avoid Unnecessary Travel During Friday's Blizzard
Travel conditions are expected to deteriorate during the evening commute.
The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) is urging motorists to avoid unnecessary travel on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 and to conclude all travel by noontime, before heavy snowfall begins. Combined with high winds, the intense snowfall will make travel very difficult Friday afternoon and Friday evening. RIDOT will plow and treat roads throughout the storm on Friday and into Saturday, when strong winds are expected to cause considerable drifting.
