Council Approves Memorial Marker, Various Licenses
The following agenda items were approved at the Nov. 13 meeting of the Coventry Town Council.
Council members voted unanimously to approve a measure giving the family of the late Peter Suorsa, former president of Coventry Survey Company, to establish a permanent granite memorial marker at the base of the tree already planted in his memory on Town Hall/Library grounds. “I think you made an elderly couple very happy,” said David Jervis, speaking on behalf of Sam and Shirley Suorsa, parents of Peter Suorsa. Licenses Council President Gary Cote lauded town officials and candidates for their conduct during the election. Praise was also given to town officials for the handling of operations surrounding Hurricane Sandy.
