Coventry EMA: Halloween Activities, Yard Waste Pickup and Parking Ban

Town offices, schools and town services will resume regular operations on Wednesday.

  The Town of Coventry Emergency Management Staff (EMA) is currently working with our Dept. of Public Works and National Grid crews to clear roads and restore power to our residents.   Points to note: SHELTER OPERATIONS: The Shelter located at the Coventry High School (40 Reservoir Rd.) closed at 12:00 noon today. For additional storm related recovery information you may go to the Town of Coventry website at http://www.town.coventry.ri.us/. Additional information may be obtained from the Rhode Island EMA at their website http://www.riema.ri.gov/. The Coventry Emergency Management Agency thanks you for your cooperation!

Coventry EMA Ask Residents to Prepare for Possible Extended Power Loss

Residents should be sure to have food, water and medical necessities.

  The Town of Coventry Emergency Management Agency (EMA) in cooperation with all Emergency Response Agencies and Human Services Agencies of the Town of Coventry are planning the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.  The Town of Coventry has experienced no fewer than 500 power outages as of 6:00 p.m. These outages will continue until sustained wind speeds lessen and National Grid crews can make repairs. Coventry EMA Officials Offer Safety Precautions as Hurricane Sandy Nears

Residents are urged to complete any travel and outdoor activities as soon as possible.

  The Town of Coventry Emergency Management Staff (EMA) in cooperation with all Emergency Response Agencies and Human Services Agencies of the Town of Coventry, continue to prepare for Hurricane Sandy. Currently the Coventry EMA is monitoring the storm and working hand-in-hand with the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency to gather information needed to make critical storm related decisions. Weather reports predict that rain will increase in intensity overnight with strong winds arriving by mid day Monday morning. These winds will increase steadily throughout the day.
