I guess I wasn't the only one.

We went to Cafe Gianna last night. It really wasn't that busy. We ordered an appetizer and watched while those around us (seated after us w served). When our appetizer finally came it was cold. Waiting for the meal to come...the waitress kept saying she was checking on our food. Food came and the vegetables were cold and my husband order veal parm and he really did not get that large a portion...especially for the price. The manager never came over until then. We heard her say sorry for the wait to the people near us but she never really cared about or did anything about the service we received. They did not charge us for the appetizer but at that point we already made our decision to not return to that restaurant.

I have been to Gianna's more times than I can count. Last year we went weekly with friends on Monday nights. We were regulars. We loved our servers Dan and Nate who have since left. However the kitchen was always extremely slow. Regardless we continued to go. Over time it seemed that the owner began to impose many rules with regard to specials, coupons, discount cards etc. most recently my husband, daughter, friends and i arrived at 6:15pm one evening. The restaurant was half full. The hostess informed us that we would have to wait 15 min for a table for 7. I suggested the larger table in the pub area which was empty. She said the owner would not allow children in that area. However, we (the exact same people) were seated at that same table one week prior. The rules had changed in one weeks time? The hostess called the owner to get permission and sat us. We ordered drinks and apps. Our drinks were a long time in coming since there were no clean glasses. Many of the specials were "out". We ordered...our meals did not arrive until 8:00pm (1 hour and 45 mins later). To top things off, one member of our party did not get his meal until everyone was finished. When the meal came it was not what he had ordered. No one offered to comp the meal. The whole experience was very disappointing and it seemed like we were there forever! By the time all was said and done we finally left at 8:45pm - 2 and a half hours from arrival. It won't return now. I've had enough.

My first couple times at Cafe Gianna were pretty good, then I don't know what happened. The food prices rose and the quality became horrible. I drive by the restaurant a few times a week and am surprised that they continue to have business. I no longer go there with my family for dinner.

Service extremely slow. If you do go on a date here, make sure it's not a first date because you'll be here awhile. Steamers worst I've ever eaten in RI. Bland, no flavor, rubbery. Ravioli was good; of course, it comes from Venda, so all they have to do is cook it.

Cafe Gianna is the quintessential RI eatery, where if you know people there and they know you, you'll be taken care of. If they do not know who you are, you'll be treated as such. There are much better places in town.

I always have a good time when I eat here. the food is tasty and the staff is very friendly. They just added a fully loaded bar section. Looks great!

I gave this place 3 strikes before swearing to never go there again. Last time i went i got the chicken marsala ($20+) but not before i was served the wrong dish, it was waaaay overcooked. I got my drinks after the entree came because they supposedly ran out of glasses. My son could not eat the pizza because it was soggy and nasty. Way overpriced and not too good.

I love the food there!! Two bad reviews mean nothing!! That place is always jamming and the help is very courteous.

Highly overpriced for the quality of food! Nothing special about it! Service was AWFUL and it wasn't a busy time of day. Will never eat here again..and rest assured that I will spread this by word of mouth so no one else has this terrible pricey food or experience!
