This Weekend: CPL Book Sale, OLC Holiday Bazaar and More

Here are just a handful of ideas to kickstart your weekend planning.

CPL Book Sale: From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 1-2, the Friends of the Coventry Public Library will hold its Semiannual Book Sale in Town Council Chambers at Coventry Town Hall. Gently used books, tapes, puzzles, and other great finds will be available for purchase at reasonable prices.

Volunteers Needed: Looking for a community service opportunity or just a chance to lend a hand to a great local cause? If so, consider volunteering a few hours of your time on Saturday morning to perform some much needed yard work. The General Nathanael Greene Homestead Association is requesting volunteers for 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 2 to help continue clearing the overgrown field below the Homestead. Volunteers began the task in August, but there is still much work to be done. Click here to learn more about the project and how you can help!

Weekend Fun at CPL: On Saturday mornings, the Coventry Public Library hosts Drop-In Crafts to Make & Take where children of all ages can create a fun craft project to take him. Also offered on Saturday mornings is Drop-In Games, during which kids of any change can play board games with friends. No registration required.

Animal Shelter Bazaar: On Sunday, Nov. 3 from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m., the West Warwick Animal Shelter is will hold its Annual Holiday Bazaar at the Church of the Apostles, located at 170 Fairview Ave.

Our Lady of Czenstochowa Bazaar: From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, Our Lady of Czenstochowa School, located at 222 Macarthur Blvd., will hold its Annual Holiday Bazaar. Breakfast will be served from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Polish and American lunch food will be served from 11:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Guests will enjoy raffles, children's games, crafts, theme baskets, a bake shop, dessert bingo and more. Admission is free. Call 821-7991 for more information.

Beginner Line Dancing: From 6-8 p.m. every Sunday night through June 8, the Coventry-West Greenwich Elks Lodge, located at 42 Nooseneck Hill Road in West Greenwich, will hold Beginner Line Dancing Classes. Cost is $6 per person. All ages are welcome. Call Lori at 821-4361 or the Lodge at 397-3700 for more information. Proceeds benefit Elks charities.
