Monday Essentials: Town Council Meets, District 1 Community Forum and More

Today is Monday, Nov. 18, 2013 and here are some things to know about the week ahead.

Meeting of the Council: The Coventry Town Council will meet Monday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at Town Hall. Click here to view this evening's agenda.

Starting A Business Series at NEFA: From 7-9 p.m. beginning today, Monday, Nov. 18, as well as Nov. 25 and again Dec. 2, New England Farm and Artist, located at 1112 Main Street in Coventry, will host a 3-part series entitled, "Starting a Business You Believe In". Tonight's session will focus on exploring whether owning your own business is for you. Participants will use self-assessment to identify barriers, determine a type of business and explore ideas to make it a reality! Greene Library November Craft: For the month of November, Greene Library (179 Hopkins Hollow Rd.,Greene) will offer a Needle Felted Sheep Ornament craft lesson each Tuesday afternoon. This fuzzy sheep ornament is simple to make and can be displayed year round. $5 fee per person includes supplies and instruction. Call 397-3873 to register.

18+ Bingo: The Coventry Senior Center (50 Wood St.) will hold Bingo this and every Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. The cost is $4 plus Specials. All are welcome, but must be 18 years and older to play.

District 1 Community Forum: At 7 p.m. this Thursday, Nov. 21, Ann Dickson, Coventry District 1 School Committee Member and Karen Carlson, Coventry District 1 Town Councilwoman, would like to invite District 1 residents to a public forum to be held at the Greene Public Library (179 Hopkins Hollow Rd., Greene) to share thoughts, questions and suggestions about our town – its government and its schools. Click here for more information.

Toddler Stories and Songs in Greene: The Greene Public Library, located at 179 Hopkins Hollow Road, Greene, will host Toddlers, Tunes & Tales this and each Friday morning from 10-10:30 a.m. The program is intended for children ages 1-3 accompanied by a parent or caregiver and will feature songs, movement and a fun story.
