Monday Essentials: Council Meeting, School Committee Discussions and More

Today is Monday, Jan. 27, 2014 and here are some things to know for the week ahead.

Town Council: 
The Coventry Town Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in Council Chambers at Coventry Town Hall. Click here to view this evening's agenda.

School Committee: At 7 p.m. Tuesday, the Coventry School Committee will meet for their first meeting of 2014 at Blackrock School, located at 12 La Casa Drive. Click here to view Tuesday's agenda.


18+ Bingo: The Coventry Senior Center (50 Wood St.) will hold Bingo today and every Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. The cost is $4 plus Specials. All are welcome, but must be 18 years and older to play.

Sustainability Circle at NEFA: From 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30, New England Farm and Artist (1112 Main St.) will host "Sustainability Study Circle: A World of Health: Connecting People, Place and Planet". Participants will explore the connections between the health of our communities and the health of our planet. They will also learn about the limitations of the current medical model and the places where our personal health intersects with the environment—from our food and homes, to our communities and society. Toddler Stories and Songs in Greene: The Greene Public Library, located at 179 Hopkins Hollow Road, Greene, will host Toddlers, Tunes & Tales this and each Friday morning from 10-10:30 a.m. The program is intended for children ages 1-3 accompanied by a parent or caregiver and will feature songs, movement and a fun story.
