Monday Essentials: Career Center Open House, CPD Safety Event and More

Today is Monday, Jan. 6, 2014 and here are some things to know for the week ahead.

18+ Bingo: The Coventry Senior Center (50 Wood St.) will hold Bingo tonight and every Monday at 6 p.m. The cost is $4 plus Specials. All are welcome, but must be 18 years and older to play.

Zen Drawing at NEFA: From 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, New England Farm and Artist (NEFA), 1112 Main Street, is offering a introductory class on "Zen Drawing". Participants will learn the basics of finding focus and contentment through the art of drawing with a fine pen and paper. Fee is $20 per person which includes materials, instruction and a kit to take home to continue practicing. Career Center Open House: From 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, the Regional Career & Technical Center at Coventry High School will hold its Annual Open House. Click here to learn more about the Center and event.

CPD Safety Event: From 12-3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, the Coventry Police Department will hold a free Child Seat Installation and Kids Workshop at Walgreens, located at 875 Tiogue Avenue.

Toddler Stories and Songs in Greene: The Greene Public Library, located at 179 Hopkins Hollow Road, Greene, will host Toddlers, Tunes & Tales this and each Friday morning from 10-10:30 a.m. The program is intended for children ages 1-3 accompanied by a parent or caregiver and will feature songs, movement and a fun story.
