Monday Essentials: Fire Board Update, Well Workshop and More

CCFD Board Meeting: Members of the Central Coventry Fire District Board of Directors will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday evening in the Town Hall Annex auditorium (1675 Flat River Road) to host an informational presentation regarding the upcoming CCFD Annual Financial Meeting scheduled for Oct. 21 and ongoing district business. Click here to view tonight's agenda.

Well Workshop: The URI Cooperative Extension Water Quality Program and RI Dept. of Health will conduct a free workshop for private well owners Tuesday, Oct. 8 from 7-9 p.m. at Western Coventry School (4588 Flat River Rd.). Call 401-874-4918 to register and click here for more information.

Hungry for Change at NEFA: From 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8 and Oct. 15, New England Farm and Artist (NEFA), (1112 Main Street), is offering "Hungry for Change: Food, Ethics and Sustainability" - a discussion course developed by the Northwest Earth Institute (NWEI). Course books developed by NWEI are available at NEFA for $25, however public copies to share are also available at the shop. Elks Fall Pitch Card League: The Coventry-West Greenwich Elks Lodge (42 Nooseneck Hill Rd., West Greenwich) will host its Fall Pitch (Hi-Lo-Jack) Card League tonight and each Thursday at 7 p.m. Cost is $5 per person per week. All adults welcome. At the end of the season, prizes will be handed out at an Awards Dinner. For more information, call Denise at 226-5053.

Toddler Stories and Songs in Greene: The Greene Public Library, located at 179 Hopkins Hollow Road, Greene, will host Toddlers, Tunes & Tales this and each Friday morning from 10-10:30 a.m. The program is intended for children ages 1-3 accompanied by a parent or caregiver and will feature songs, movement and a fun story.
