CPL Book Club: For those of you making your way through this month's Coventry Public Library book group selection, The Scent of Rain and Lightning by Nancy Pickard, don't forget that the group's monthly meeting will be held today, Aug. 26 at 1 p.m.
Fr. John V. Doyle: Father John V. Doyle School will hold orientation today for students entering grades 6-8, as well as a school-wide open house from 6:30-8:30 p.m. FJVD's first day of school is Wednesday, Aug. 28.
18+ Bingo: The Coventry Senior Center (50 Wood St.) will hold Bingo tonight and every Monday at 6 p.m., as well as every Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. The cost is $4 plus Specials. All are welcome, but must be 18 years and older to play.
Pink Heals Reception: The Pink Heals National Tour will arrive right here in Coventry tomorrow, (Tuesday, Aug. 27)! The RI Chapter is holding a welcome reception at Nino's on Lake Tiogue at 6 p.m., complete with a family-style dinner! Cost is $20 per person and will benefit the Pink Heals organization. CHS Blood Drive: To kick off the new school year, Coventry High School will host a Back to School Blood Drive on Friday, Aug. 30 and Tuesday, Sept. 3 from 7:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. in the school gym. 16 and 17 year-old students may donate, but must meet minimum weight requirements and have a parent/guardian sign their permission form.
