Monday Essentials: 'Legendary Locals' Book Signing, CFD Annual Meeting and More

Today is Monday, Dec. 9, 2013 and here are some things to know about the week ahead.

Meeting of the Council: The Coventry Town Council and School Committee will meet in a joint work session Monday at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers at Town Hall to discuss the 3-year budget forecast as required by District 5 Ordinance 3-06-249. At 7 p.m., the Town Council will meet for its regularly scheduled meeting. Click here to view Monday's agenda.

Winter Program Registration: Parks & Recreation Winter Program registration for Coventry residents begins Monday, Dec. 9 at the Community Center. Non-resident registration begins Dec. 16 and is for adult classes only. Most programs begin the second week in January. Click here to download the Winter Program flyer or see the attached file. 

Legendary Locals of Coventry: From 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, new local author Andrew Boisvert will celebrate the Dec. 9 release of his book, Legendary Locals of Coventry with a book signing and meet & greet. All are welcome, refreshments will be served! Click here for more details!

CFD Annual Meeting: At 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, the Coventry (Anthony) Fire District will hold its Annual Meeting at Club Jogues, located at 184 Boston St., Coventry. Click here to view Tuesday's agenda.

School Committee: At 7 p.m., Tuesday, the Coventry School Committee will meet at Washington Oak Elementary School, located at 801 Read School House Road. Click here to view the meeting agenda.

18+ Bingo: The Coventry Senior Center (50 Wood St.) will hold Bingo this and every Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. The cost is $4 plus Specials. All are welcome, but must be 18 years and older to play.

CPD Safety Event: From 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, the Coventry Police Department will hold a free Child Seat Installation and Kids Workshop at Crystal Cleansers, located at 1 Coventry Shoppers Park.

Toddler Stories and Songs in Greene: The Greene Public Library, located at 179 Hopkins Hollow Road, Greene, will host Toddlers, Tunes & Tales this and each Friday morning from 10-10:30 a.m. The program is intended for children ages 1-3 accompanied by a parent or caregiver and will feature songs, movement and a fun story.
