CERT Team Collects 555 Pounds of Food During Drive

Donations collected will benefit the Rhode Island Chapter of Pink Heals.

 

Members of the Coventry CERT team gathered at on Saturday to collect food and donations for , an organization that benefits cancer patients and their families.

Members distributed filers to shoppers listing which non-perishable items are most needed. By the end of the drive, 555 pounds of food had been collected, including 148 lbs. of canned goods, 45 lbs. of peanut butter, 10 lbs. of cereal, 35 lbs. of paper goods, 35 lbs. of prepared foods, 108 lbs. of pasta, 10 lbs. of snacks and crackers, 31 lbs. of soap and shampoo, 27 lbs. of beverages and 32 lbs. of miscellaneous groceries.

Shoppers also donated $650 that was used to purchase Dave's Marketplace gift cards for families.
