Cynthia Gaudet Named Little East Player of the Week

Rhode Island College senior guard Cynthia Gaudet of Coventry was named the Little East Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performance in the NCAA Div. III Tournament this past weekend.
 
Gaudet averaged 17.5 points, five rebounds and three assists per game as Rhode Island College advanced to the second round of the tournament. On Friday March 2, she scored 14 points, pulled in four rebounds and handed out three assists as the Anchorwomen sailed past Baruch, 69-54. The following evening, Gaudet produced a team-high 21 points, which included converting 11 of 12 attempts from the foul line, and collected six boards in a second round, 57-52, loss to Emmanuel College.
 
For the season, Gaudet played in 29 games, starting all of them. She averaged 15.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 3.3 steals per game. Gaudet was the Little East Conference Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All-Little East and selected to the league's All-Defensive Team.
 
Head Coach Marcus Reilly's team finished the season with a 25-4 overall record and a 13-1 (first place) mark in the Little East Conference. RIC closes out the program's most successful campaign, having established new school records for wins (25), winning percentage (.862) and Little East wins (13). The Anchorwomen captured the program's first-ever Little East Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championships. It was RIC's first home loss (14-1) of the year.
