NEIT Appoints Coventry Resident to Faculty

Dr. Thomas F. Wylie, Senior Vice President and Provost, at New England Institute of Technology (NEIT), announced Amy Butzier as Assoc. Professor.

 

Coventry resident Amy Butzier has joined the faculty at New England Tech as an Associate Professor in the Veterinary Technology program. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she is the faculty advisor for the NEIT student chapter of the National Association of Vet Techs in America (NAVTA). Butzier served as a faculty member at Mount Ida College

A graduate of the Mount Ida College Veterinary Technology program in Newton Centre, MA, Butzier completed both her Associate in Science degree and Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Technology. She also earned a Master of Science degree in Education from the American Intercontinental University. 

Butzier was a recipient of the Veterinary Technology Excellence Award and was nominated as the Rhode Island Veterinary Technician of the Year in 2010. She was recognized as a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Equine Veterinary Nursing by the Academy of Equine Veterinary Nursing Technicians and received the Teaching Excellence Award by the Alpha Chi Honor Society and the Distinguished Alumni of the Year Award at Mount Ida College.

Butzier served as President of NAVTA in 2006 and was the national chairperson on veterinary technician specialties from 2007-2010. She has published many articles and has been a featured presenter at several national veterinary conferences.
