Here's a list of options to kick start your weekend planning.

 

It's Friday, and you've got no idea what you'll do for the weekend. Well, Patch is coming to the rescue. We've got the best bets for every age to make your weekend just what you've been waiting for. Check our picks for the activities that are going on in town.

1.) Senior Center April Breakfast

Where/When: Coventry Senior Center (50 Wood St.); Friday, 7:30-9 a.m.

Why Go: The Coventry Senior Center will host its April Breakfast featuring scrambled eggs, choice of bacon or sausage, French toast or English muffin, juice, coffee and tea. All are welcome!

Where/When: Greene Public Library; Fridays, 10-10:30 a.m.

Why Go: The Greene Public Library hosts a Friday morning program each week beginning for 1 to 3-year-olds accompanied by a parent or caregiver. The activity features songs, movement and a story. Please call the library at 397-3873 to register.

3.) Prescription Drug Take Back Day

Where/When: Coventry Town Hall Annex - Coventry Police Training Center (1675 Flat River Rd.); Saturday, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Why Go: Help fight substance abuse by limiting youth access to prescription drugs. No questions asked, easy disposal of unwanted, unused, expired prescription pills or liquids. (Take labels off of pill bottles and secure liquids.)

Pricing: No fee

4.) Oakers for Life Alumni Concert

Where/When: Coventry High School auditorium; Saturday, 6:30 p.m.

Why Go: The CHS Music Department is hosting an alumni concert this weekend to benefit the CHS Alumni Association, which raises money for scholarships granted to Coventry High School seniors. Many former students of the music program who are currently involved professionally with music or who have continued to perform will return to share their talents. (See the attached program for more information!)

Pricing: $7 for adults, $5 for children and senior citizens

5.) Coventry Rabies Clinic

Where/When: DPW Town Garage (behind Town Hall); Sunday, 9 a.m. - noon

Why Go: Get your pets vaccinated against rabies this Sunday. Not only does it protect your pets and family, but it's also the law! (Don't forgot to keep your pups on leashes and your cats in carriers!) Click here for more information AND for the pre-registration form.
Pricing: $10 per pet

6.) Line Dancing

Where/When: Coventry-West Greenwich Elks LodgeSunday, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Why Go: Want to try something a little different this weekend? Then try your hand (or feet) at line dancing. All ages and abilities are welcome. For more info call Jerry (397-3700) or Lori (206-3618).

Pricing: $6 per person to benefit Elks and Emblems charities.
