Five Things You Need To Know Today, October 17

Today is Wednesday, Oct. 17. Here are five things you need to know:

 

School Bond Meeting: There will be a public information session to present each School Construction Bond item tonight at 7 p.m. at Alan Shawn Feinstein Middle School. Residents are invited to visit, listen and ask questions to allow for an informed decision on Election Day, Nov. 6.

CPL Foundation Dinner: The Coventry Public Library Foundation will hold a Steak Fry/Chicken Dinner on Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. at Club Jogues (Boston St.). Tickets are $25 per person and all proceeds will benefit the Coventry Public Library. Call 822-9100 for more information or to purchase tickets.

Kaplan Practice Test Registration: Today is the last day to register for the FREE Kaplan Practice Tests at URI's Kington Campus on Saturday, Oct. 20 in Swan Hall. Kaplan is partnering with the URI Alumni Association to offer the free tests to current students and alumni, including the LSAT, MCAT, GMAT, and GRE. Click here to register today.

HHFRI Foreclosure Prevention Meeting: Representatives Scott Guthrie and Lisa Tomasso, in conjunction with Hardest Hit Fund Rhode Island will host an informational meeting tonight at 6 p.m. tonight at Coventry Town Hall. The presentation will focus on homeowners, who are having difficulty making mortgage payments due to a documented financial hardship. Click here for more information.

Men's Club Steak Fry: Today is the last day to reserve your spot at Friday's Steak Fry and Chicken Dinner at the Coventry Men's Club (30 Phillips Hill Rd.) beginning at 7 p.m. Steak dinner is $12.99, Chicken is $10.99. Live music will follow. Call 385-3536 to for reservations.
