Today is Wednesday, Jan. 30. Here are five things you need to know:

 

School Safety Forum: Tonight at 6:30 p.m., Coventry Public Schools will host a School Safety & Security Forum at Coventry High School for parents and members of the community to discuss changes to the district's safety and security practices. Click here for more information.

CPL Evening Storytime: Children are invited to wear their PJs and slippers to the Coventry Public Library tonight at 6:30 p.m. for a cozy storytime. There will be stories, fingerplays, activities, crafts and hot beverages for adults. No registration is required.

Coventry Business Forum: The Coventry Economic Development Commission has invited Coventry business owners to supply feedback and ideas to plan for 2013 initiatives. A public forum will be held this evening at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Coventry Town Hall (1670 Flat River Rd.) Click here for more information.

Lacrosse Comedy Fundraiser: The CHS Lacrosse team is hosting their 2nd Annual Comedy Night/Dinner Show at 6 p.m. on Feb. 2 at Nino's on Lake Tiogue. Tickets are $35 for one person, $65 per couple and include a night of comedy from Frank O'Donnell's Comedy Caravan and an Italian dinner. CHS Alumni Musicians: Brad DeGraide, choral director and teacher at CHS, and Marina Ferri (Class of 2008) have scheduled an alumni concert for Apr. 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium to benefit the CHS Alumni Association. They are looking for former high school musicians who have remained in the music field either as a teacher, performer or music professional.
