Five Things You Need To Know Today, February 26

Today is Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013 and here are five things you should know for today.

 

Fagan Door Blood Drive: Coventry business Fagan Door Corp. (390 Tiogue Ave.), is hosting a blood drive today from 2-5 p.m. The first 15 donors will receive a reusable Fagan Door tote bag. Click here for more details.

School Committee Meeting: The Coventry School Committee will meet tonight at 7 p.m. at the School Administration Offices (1675 Flat River Rd.). Click here to see this evening's agenda.

RI Red Sox Scholarship: Attention high school seniors who plan to attend an accredited two/ four year college or trade school! One CHS senior WILL be chosen for this prestigious award. Seniors that maintain a "B" average, completed community service, and demonstrate eligibility for financial aid should apply by the March 1 deadline. The winning Coventry student will receive tickets to attend a Red Sox game on May 11, 2013. Well Owner Workshop: This evening at 7 p.m., the RI Dept. of Health and URI will host a free workshop at Loutitt Library (274 Victory Hwy., West Greenwich) for private well owners. During the workshop, those in attendance will learn about regular testing, maintenance and good housekeeping practices for their wells. This is a free program, but pre-registration is required and can be made by calling 874-4918.

Plan Ahead - LAC Committee: Coventry's Local Advisory Committee (LAC) on Special Education will be meeting at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow, Feb. 27 in the conference room at the School Administration Offices (1675 Flat River Rd.). All meetings are open to the public and anyone interested in Special Education issues is welcome.
