School Safety: This morning, Coventry schools will observe a moment of silence for those affected by the after the Pledge of Allegiance. Meetings will be held 15 minutes before the start of school to brief teachers and staff on the attached document and also refamiliarize themselves with lock-down, evacuation and visitor/check-in procedures. Also, a School Safety & Security Team will meet with the Coventry Police Department this week for a review and needs assessment of the district's safety and security practices and procedures.

CHS Yearbook Extension: Students and families should be aware that the deadline to purchase a 2013 Coventry High School yearbook has been extended to Dec. 19. Completed order forms with check or money order can be deposited in Mrs. O’Rourke’s mailbox. For questions, contact Mrs. O'Rourke at orourkedolores@coventryschools.net.

CPL Book Discussion: The Coventry Public Library will host its monthly Book Discussion Group today at 1 p.m. This month's book is Room by Emma Donoghue.

Cookie Swap: The Greene Public Library (179 Hopkins Hollow Rd.) will host a Cookie Swap tomorrow, Dec. 18 at 6 p.m. Participants bake several batches of one type of cookie and can then trade with others! Call 397-3873 for sign-up information.
