Coventry Schools to Host 2nd Annual Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

Six new inductees will be honored for their contributions to athletics in Coventry schools.

Coventry Public Schools will begin the New Year by inviting six individuals to become distinguished members of the district's Athletic Hall of Fame during the Second Annual Induction Celebration ceremony on Saturday Jan. 25 at Quidnessett Country Club, (950 North Quidnessett Rd., North Kingstown).

At the event, the 2014 Hall of Fame inductees will be honored for their significant contributions to Coventry school athletics. The inductees are:

The Athletic Hall of Fame was established in November 2011 following school committee approval of Athletic Director Chuck Jones' program proposal, which allowed Hall of Fame committee members to reach out to the community for nominations of deserving individuals.

The Jan. 25 event will begin with cocktails at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets are $35 per person and should be reserved as soon as possible.
