CHS Scholarship Winner Honored at Gillette Stadium

Senior Joseph Nardolillo was awarded a scholarship for sportsmanship and academic achievement.

HP Hood, New England's leading dairy processor, awarded 18 high school seniors $5,000 Hood Sportsmanship Scholarships presented by Hood Milk during a ceremony at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, May 20. Three high school seniors from each of the six New England States – Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont – were honored for their integrity and sportsmanship on and off the playing field.

Among the 18 recipients was senior Joseph Nardolillo, a varsity athlete who has demonstrated good sportsmanship on and off the field, as well as excelled in academics and is an involved community member. Nardolillo will be attending the University of Rhode Island in the fall.

HP Hood received more than 2,500 entries and 10 finalists in each state were determined by a general public vote, which was followed by in-person interviews by a panel of judges who identified the top three in each state.

“We were impressed by the quality of applicants that we received and overwhelmed by their commitment to good sportsmanship on the field, in the classroom and in their communities,” said Lynne Bohan, Hood spokesperson.  “We wish each student – and all of the applicants – the best of luck as they start their college career.”
