Raimondo Honors Financial Coaching Volunteers From Coventry

Coventry residents and Fidelity Investments employees Jillian Galenski and John Wurtz volunteered for the Capital Good Fund's Financial Coaching Corp.

General Treasurer Gina M. Raimondo showed her thanks recently to the Fidelity Investments employees who volunteered for the Capital Good Fund’s Financial Coaching Corps by awarding each member a citation commending them for their involvement.

Among those recognized were Coventry residents Jillian Galenski and John Wurtz.

Raimondo has partnered with the Capital Good Fund to organize the Rhode Island Financial Coaching Corps (FCC). The Corps pairs volunteers with financial skills with Rhode Islanders looking to receive coaching in budgeting, credit and debt.

“The success of the Financial Coaching Corps program is a direct result of the dedication of the coaches,” said Raimondo “These volunteers have gone beyond what is expected of them to help their clients work towards financial empowerment.”

More than 30 Fidelity employee volunteers made a six-month commitment to the Financial Coaching Corps. These volunteers teach members of the Year Up and Teach For America programs how to take charge of their own finances through free one-on-one financial planning sessions.
