Morgan Greets Bangladeshi Award Winner

Rep. Patricia Morgan recently met Bangladeshi businesswoman Selima Ahmad in Washington.

State Representative Patricia Morgan (shown left) greets Jeanne Kirkpatrick Award winner Selima Ahmad of Bangladesh at the International Women’s Day Conference in Washington last month.

Ahmad was recently recognized by the Women’s Democracy Network (WDN) for her advocacy of micro-finance to fund women in business.

Representative Morgan, who represents parts of Coventry, West Warwick and Warwick in the RI General Assembly, was the only invited guest from the New England states. She has been involved with the WDN for a number of years, and has worked on its behalf to Ukraine, Moldova, Jordan and Turkey to advance the role of women in politics and government.
