McCaffrey Chosen As Grand Marshal of West Warwick St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The 54th annual parade will kick off at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

STATE HOUSE – On the day when all don green, Sen. Michael J. McCaffrey (D-Dist. 29, Warwick) will be leading the 54th West Warwick Saint Patrick’s Day Parade as its grand marshal. The Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick of the Pawtuxet Valley held a banquet at Club Jogues in Coventry this past Saturday in order to officially welcome the senator to the top of a long list of past parade leaders.

“Being of Irish descent, it is a true honor to walk down Main Street on Saint Patrick’s Day in celebration of my heritage and Rhode Island’s Irish community,” Senator McCaffrey said. “I’m extremely excited for parade day and grateful that the Friendly Sons have given me this opportunity. I’m also happy that I will be able to join the many others who are marching and representing Warwick in this parade.”
