How Would You Grade Coventry’s Snow Plowing This Winter?

Give your praise, voice your concern and let the town know what you think about snow plowing this winter.

The past three weeks have seen one snowstorm after another barrel up the east coast and dump more snow onto the area.

Plowing snow is often a thankless job. There is rarely praise, but there are few things that raise a person’s ire more than snow-covered streets days after a snowstorm has passed.

With us now deep into February and after three weeks of snowstorms, we want to know: How would you rate Coventry’s snow removal this winter?

Let us know in the comments section below. Give your praise, voice your concern and let the town know what you think about snow plowing this winter

They do a terrific job. Unlike other towns I drive in our roads are always clear. Bravo and thanks for doing a great job.

They are hit or miss

I think they have a done a good job, been a resident since 1998 and I have no complaints.

Inconsistent. They"ll have plows down with 1/2" of snow, then next time not show up til there's 5". No rhyme nor reason to the route.

I live on Metro Drive in the cul de sac! Whoever does my road does an outstanding job. I actually wanted to tip him one day for doing a great job. Since putting up my picket fence a couple of years ago, now he has to watch where he puts the snow without hitting it. I do have reflectors on the fence. Awesome job dude!!!

Ames St. and Hill St. were kept relatively clear. No one came sliding down Hill St. either into my property or my neighbors. My only complaint is that all the storm drains were blocked causing the water and sand to run down my driveway into my garage or my neighbor's cellar. After making a call yesterday to have them come and open the drains the job was done first thing this morning. A great job, very well done. Joan

Sometimes I have to shovel 10 feet into the street, sometimes only 5 (I guess the plow driver is trying to keep me in shape.) Sometimes they come early in the morning, sometimes not until 5:30 at night. ?? I agree with the comment hit or miss. Not very impressed.

Overall, they have done fairly well. Main roads are usually good and side roads are passable. However I work at a nursing home on a bumpy country road here in town and that road is always the worse road I travel...Weaver Hill road needs to be a priority not an afterthought. For the sake of the residents and those they count on for care...

I think they do a pretty good job under the circumstances. I have had times where it is absolutely perfect and other times where I have had to shovel two feet out into the street. I used to have reflectors to mark the lawn edge but the neighborhood kids destroy them and steal them. I might have to try those again to assist the plow drivers on "seeing" where the property line is. It's not their fault they can't see it too good.

I've lived in Coventry since 1948 and the town has pretty much always done a pretty good job considering the storms we've had.

Lived in Coventry since 1981. The first few years, I am not sure if they knew our plat was here - we would go a couple of days before we saw a plow. The last few years have been great - they make several passes down my court (which is a hill, so I'm glad they are frequent!). Keep up the good work!

I live on Viola St. and no matter what time it snows we are always last to be plowed. Centennial and Laforge Streets are done but we have to wait. They do a good job when they do plow though.

We've lived on Garfield Dr. since 1984 and The Snowplow Crews have always done an excellent job. I've driven all over RI as a courier and Coventry does the best job of clearing the roads of snow by far.

Good job
