State Police Log: Vandalism, Larceny and Fugitives From Justice

A collection of various Coventry-related arrests made by RI State Police. The following information does not indicate a conviction.

Hope Valley Barracks

  • At 1:24 p.m. on Sept. 29, troopers arrested Richard Grace, 52, of 61 Roundway Dr., Coventry, for Sixth District Court Bench warrant for Failure To Appear/Ability to pay on an original charge of Larceny under $1,500 out of the Coventry Police Department. 

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 3 in Coventry. Grace was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed and later turned over to the Adult Correctional Institute.

  • On Oct. 10 at 6:48 p.m., troopers arrested Christopher Dupont, 50, of 5 Wisteria Dr., Coventry, for a Third District Court Warrant for Failure to Appear for Payment Review on a charge of Domestic Vandalism, originating out of the Coventry Police Department. 

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Arnold Road in Coventry. Dupont was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed and later transported to the Adult Correctional Institution Men's Intake Center.

Detective Bureau

  • On Sept. 30, detectives assigned to the ACI charged Michael B. Peiczarka, 22, having a last known address of 500 Old Main St., Coventry, as a Fugitive from Justice from the State of Connecticut. 

The Windham County Connecticut State's Attorney's Office had filed a detainer for inmate Peiczarka for the following: 1) Burglary - 3rd Degree; and 2) Larceny - 6th Degree. Peiczarka appeared before the Honorable Judge Clifton in Third Division District Court, where extradition proceedings were waived. Bail was set at $20,000 with double surety, and inmate Peiczarka was remanded to the Intake Service Center of the ACI to await Connecticut authorities.

  • On October 16, detectives assigned to the ACI charged Raymond A. Gauthier, 25, having a last known address of 50 Murray St., Coventry, with being a Fugitive from Justice from the State of Florida. 

Gauthier was wanted by the Florida Department of Corrections/Palm Beach County Office of Adult Probation for violation of probation on an original charge of Grand Theft. He was presented before the Honorable Chief Judge LaFazia in Third Division District Court, where extradition proceedings were waived. Gauthier was remanded to the Intake Service Center of the ACI to await Florida authorities.

Scituate Barracks

  • At 6 p.m. on Oct. 16, troopers arrested Richard Frye, 20, of 11 Gillespie Ct., Coventry, for a Fugitive from Justice Arrest Warrant for Robbery from the Manchester, NH Police Department. 

Frye was held overnight pending morning arraignment.
