Police Seek Information In Suspicious Arnold Road Fire Case

Coventry police continue to seek information from the public that may lead to the identification and arrest of the person(s) responsible for a severe structure fire that occurred at 451 Arnold Road at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Aug. 30., 2013.

The two-alarm blaze tore through the vacant building quickly, forcing firefighters to exit the building due to high flames and intense heat which eventually caused the roof to collapse. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the building was deemed a total loss.

According to Coventry Town Manager Thomas Hoover, the building is owned by the town and is part of an 18-acre property located around an outdated landfill. Town officials had been planning to demolish the structure within the next several months as part of a water table remediation project.
