PHOTOS: Local Firefighters Fill the Boot for Families in Need
Firefighters from all Coventry fire districts, Mishnock and West Greenwich raised more than $8,000 last Saturday.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, firefighters from every Coventry fire district as well as Mishnock and West Greenwich participated in this year's "Tis the Season" Boot Drive. Participants used firefighter boots to collect donations from motorists at the intersection of Sandy Bottom and Arnold roads.
A total of $8,100 was collected and will be used to benefit Coventry and West Greenwich families in need during the holiday season. This amount is nearly $1,000 more than last year's collection.
