One Dead in Fast-Moving Fire

The fire destroyed the house at 290 Knotty Oak Road.

A man is dead after an intense blaze that engulfed the house at 290 Knotty Oak Road Sunday night.

Firefighters responded to the fire at around 7:20 p.m. and it was fully engulfed upon arrival.

A photo posted by East Greenwich firefighters on their Facebook page showed a fireball that left little chance of a structure being saved.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire after 8 p.m.

The victim was not immediately identified.

Dear gentle readers. Please consider your sadness once you research who lived at this address. If it was the owner who died, then I don't believe you will find this to be a horrible tragedy.
