Machine Fire Causes Minor Damage at Arkwright Inc.

The blaze was reported early Thursday morning at the Coventry business.

Central Coventry fire crews responded to a reported machine fire at Arkwright Inc., 538 Main St., around 1 a.m. on Thursday.

CCFD Chief Andrew Baynes explained that the fire began in and was confined to a bin machine. An employee attempted to put the fire out and a fixed extinguishing device in the area of the machine was activated, causing the flames to be nearly out when crews arrived.
