Local Man Charged with Molesting 11-Year-Old
Andrew King was arrested after Coventry police received a tip.
Coventry police earlier this month helped arrest a Lincoln man on child molestation charges.
Andrew King, 21, of 1583 Old Louisquisset Pike, Lincoln, was also charged with possession of child pornography.
Coventry police said they launched an investigation April 7 when a woman said her 11-year-old relative received "suspicious" text messages from King. Authorities seized King's phone.
"The analysis revealed numerous texts between the boy and Mr. King," police said in a statement. "The content of the texts indicated that sexual images had been exchanged, but were deleted at the direction of Mr. King."
Police said their investigation revealed King sexually assaulted the child.
King was charged with first-degree child molestation, which carries a possible sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
