Jaws of Life Needed After Knotty Oak Area Rollover

Driver headed to hospital after crash on Wednesday afternoon.

 

Update - 5:16 p.m.: According to Anthony Fire Deputy Chief Robert Warren, the driver who was alone in the vehicle was transported to Kent Hospital with minor injuries after rolling her mini van on its side.

Coventry Police Officer Rich Pendola held the woman's hand through a window during the extrication to keep her calm.

"We think she may have went up on a wall and rolled the van," said Warren. "She did have minor injuries, but nothing life-threatening."

3:42 p.m.: A motorist was taken to Kent County Hospital in Warwick after rolling her car at Knotty Oak Rd. and Gervais St. shortly after 3:30 on Wednesday afternoon.

The elderly female was conscious and alert when fire and rescue crews arrived on the scene. The Jaws of Life were needed to free her from the vehicle.
