Hearings on Future of CCFD Being Held Today

The future of the Central Coventry Fire District is being addressed at the State House today.
The Finance Committees of both the House and the Senate will conduct hearings to determine the future of the Central Coventry Fire District.
At issue will be whether Central Coventry should quality for Fiscal Stability Act Assistance so that the Fire Department can be set on a course for fiscal health.
The Senate Finance Committee hearing is at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8. (Room 2778).

The International Association of Firefighters said in a release that "this is solution has already worked in Central Falls, East Providence and Woonsocket. In fact, the City of Central Falls now has a $1.7 million surplus."
