As law enforcement authorities searched the State House office of House Speaker Gordon Fox Friday, FBI agents raided his Providence home.
The Associated Press reported the investigation involved the U.S. attorney’s office, the FBI, IRS, and State Police. The exact nature of the investigation has not yet been divulged.
Fox is a Democrat from Providence and the first openly gay House Speaker in the country.
Earlier this year, Fox was investigated by the state ethics commission for failing to reveal income he earned while doing legal work, according to the AP.
