Coventry Police Department Opens Application, Eligibility Process for Prospective Officers

The Coventry Police Department has opened the application process for a police officer eligibility list. Applicants who successfully complete the process will be added to a list of candidates eligible to attend the training academy and be considered for police officer positions within the Department as they become available.

Applications may be obtained from the Coventry Police Department (1075 Main Street) or Personnel Department at Coventry Town Hall (1670 Flat River Road). Interested parties may also download an application and eligibility requirements from this Coventry Patch article, at www.coventrypd.org or by clicking here. All previous applicants must re-apply.

Items that must be presented at the time of application (and must be legible) are:

1. Copy of Birth Certificate or Naturalization Papers; and
2. Copy of valid Motor Vehicle License; and
3. Copy of High School Diploma or Certified Transcript; and
4. Copy of College Diploma or Official Transcript; or                               Copy of Military Discharge (DD214), or                                         Proof of Military/Reserve/National Guard service; or                        Copy of Police/Law Enforcement Academy Certificate; and
5. $20 non-refundable fee.

All applications must be returned to the Personnel Office at Coventry Town Hall with all required documents and $20 testing fee by 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 6, 2013.
