Coventry PD Looking for Alleged iPhone Thieves

Police said the suspects managed to swap a sealed iPhone box with another sealed iPhone box that contained drywall.

The Coventry Police Department is looking for two suspects who allegedly stole an iPhone 5S from BJ's Wholesale at 790 Centre of New England Blvd.

Police said the two suspects, pictured here, walked into the store around 12:10 p.m. on April 30. They went to the Verizon kiosk where they asked to see the phone.

They were handed a sealed box containing the new phone. Unbeknownst to the clerk, they returned a sealed iPhone box back to the clerk but it later was found to contain pieces of drywall.

Police said the phone is valued at $659 and the suspects left in a gold Chrysler 200.

Police said the suspects are "possibly involved in other similar thefts" and might be working for a criminal ring out of New York.
