Coventry police have identified the driver in a fatal accident early Wednesday morning on Plainfield Pike as Scott Deware, 35, of Gibson Hill Road in Sterling, Conn.
Police said Deware was driving his 2011 Ford pickup westbound on Plainfield Pike at around 1:49 a.m. when he lost control and drove off the road. The vehicle rolled over after it rolled down an embankment.
Deware crashed about a mile from the Connecticut line in the area of 1800 Plainfield Pike and did not survive the crash, police said.
The crash remains under investigation.
