Authorities have been trying to identify a man killed in a fire on Knotty Oak Road Sunday night.

The fire broke out at about 7:20 p.m. at 290 Knotty Oak Road.

The victim appeared to be trying to escape the blaze, according to WPRI-TV.

An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday, according to WPRI.

Has any one looked in the guy's car at the reg for his name or contact the motor Vehcle with the plate number maybe they can find out who he is. This whole thing is very sad his house cought fire he tryes to get out does not make it and now know one knows who he is :(

Jo-Anne, the car may very well be his but they need to verify that is who they found in the house......

I agree w/RS. I'm sure DMV, reverse 911, and other tools were used to determine the owner/addressee but they are not "positive I.D.'s" like medical and dental records.
